Text Box: Since March 2007, we have introduced a program called Career Development and Placement Cell (CDPC). In this program, respective colleges would set up their own CDPC as a student welfare/services program as per NACC guidelines, which we would help implement.
Till July 2007, Seven colleges namely, Mugberia College (Purba Medinipur), Bijoy Krishna Girls’ College (Howrah), Lalbaba College (Howrah), Serampore Girls’ College (Hooghly), Siliguri Commerce College (Darjeeling), Maharani Kasiswari College (Kolkata) Vivekananda College (Thakurpukur, Kolkata) have signed us up for implementation of CDPC at the respective colleges. Twenty other colleges are discussing it in their Governing Bodies. In 2007-08 we expect to implement CDPC at 50 colleges. Click here, for a list of institutions implementing CDPC.

All the industry, media, and Govt. projection indicators, as well as, our experience over the last three years underscore that:
substantial number of jobs are being created but not getting filled due to acute shortage of manpower adequately trained as per industry’s requirements
it has been established that given adequate training as per industry’s dynamically evolving requirements, graduating students and job aspirants can be made employable and placed
without such efforts taken up by serious industry and academia partnerships, the growing economical advantage and momentum enjoyed by India today will be lost to more aggressive forward thinking countries
In order to cope with the requirements, as well as, to make the job opportunities available to your students we offer a two fold proposal, for your consideration, as follows. (We have designed these programs to simultaneously help your NAAC recommended Student Welfare Services requirements.)

(1) Career Development and Placement Cell at your Institution
We will provide our assistance and support in implementation of your “Career and Placement Cell” by lending our experience and competence, in the context, and by providing access of the hiring company’s engaged by our central placement and corporate relations cell to your students. We will provide support to your career and placement cell/effort in the following manner:
by providing Career Counseling to the students
by providing adequate and required Career Development Program to your students including career related seminars, training programs and campus interviews, and
by providing Employment Linkage/Placement Assistance to the graduating students

(2) A Nodal Centre of CEIAT at your Institution
We propose to setup a nodal center of the Dept. of IT, Govt. of West Bengal supported “Centre of Excellence for IT/ITeS Assessment and Training (CEIAT)” at your college. This center will offer CEIAT’s existing training and placement programs for the benefit of year final year and graduated students. The nodal center will conduct any or all of the following activities as deemed practical and feasible by you: (1) Awareness development campaigns and counseling, (2) registration for ACET, (3) Assessment tests (ACET), (4) Need-based training and (5) Placement assistance. If you wish, this nodal centre could be made available to all job aspirants of your locality, not just your students and graduates, as a local social service.
